In addition to web design and development, I have many non-computer related hobbies such as music, photography, movies, cooking, traveling, surfing, windsurfing, fishing, mountain biking, snowboarding, and ice hockey.
The Website
Recognition
XHTMLed has been featured on CSS Vault, Screenspire, CSS Mania, Submit CSS, and CSS Drive - galleries of well-designed websites using CSS.
Statistics
Since April 2004, I have written 57 entries that contain a total of 16,551 words and 40 comments have been posted.
Code
I believe strongly in web standards and keeping code clean. The site is coded in XHTML 1.0 Strict for markup and CSS 2.0 for presentation. It conforms to the W3C's recommendations of seperating style from content as opposed to traditional HTML table based designs.
Software
The site is coded using Textmate, files are uploaded using Transmit, and images and photos are created or edited using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. The site is managed using Movable Type 3.2, which is an extremely powerful content management system. It has been slightly hacked and uses the following plug-ins:
Feeds
For those who like to use news aggregators you can subscribe to the Main Entries and the Links RSS feeds. If you have no idea what this is, you will need to use an RSS reader such as NetNewsWire (Mac OS X) or NewzCrawler (Windows) in order to view the site via RSS. The benefit of viewing the site through RSS is that it will let you know whenever I update my site and also makes it a lot easier if you frequently read a lot of weblogs. If you’d like to read more about what feeds are, please go here.
